I can see the end of summer from here, the kids are back in school and I now have the time to reflect on my earth-friendly habits...and failures. I was cleaning out the reusable coffee filter yesterday and realized that for all of my backsliding, I have also made some real gains. I have made peace with my recycled plastic and when the bin is full, I don't fret about it.
Yes, I feel a bit of a twich when I throw that large empty peanut butter jar in the trash...yes, the trash. It takes a considerable amount of water to clean it, but if I don't, the ants and mice will find it faster than the kids can discover my hidden stash of chocolate. And yes, I still forget the fabric grocery bags more often than not. But it's OK. I'm comfortable being a 95 percent-er.
Take a moment this week and congratulate yourself for those things you ARE doing. And don't forget to pick one more thing off my Quick List!
