70% Off LED's

I made my yearly pilgrimage to Walgreens's last week to check the Christmas aisle for their 70% off items. There were lots of nutcracker-shaped Snickers, and marshmallow-filled chocolate santas. Hey, for 12 cents each, how can I not indulge? However, there were also several boxes of LED Christmas lights.

I had been avoiding LED lights because they were pretty pricey. But at 70% off I actually took the time to read the box and lo and behold, each string uses only 2.5 watts of electricity! Our old tiny lights used as much as 100 watts each. Wow, not only can I burn my holiday lights later into the night, I can burn them all winter!

This is another example of, if you can't change your usage, change your product. I'm re-thinking my lighting decorations for next year, but for now, the neighbors may wonder why my holiday lights are on until spring. It's my antidote for SAD (Seasonal Deficiency Disorder)!
